Brewing
Where is the brewery?
A great and complex question. We're a brewing co-operative, we are not a brewery, yet. We have a vision that involves our own production line, however, as we scale and prove the concept of the Co-op we are using contract breweries. We have, while discovering our journey, found our fellow brewing community to be warm, welcoming and incredibly generous. Our Dark Mild is forged in Castlemaine at Shedshaker Brewing where we hope to have a long and close relationship with the team.
Membership
What are you spending the membership fees on?
We're a small entity with a small cost base and as of July 2019, we're a volunteer run organisation. However we're a Co-op making a consumable product therefore there are some costs that are unavoidable including: insurance, legal, design and supply chain costs. The production, cost and resale of our product is done with a margin that allows for scale and a future for the Co-op. It's incredibly exciting.Do you offer discounts for concession card holders?
Yes, we do. The Co-op membership joining fee is reduced from $250 to $150 for holders of a relevant concession card. Students who can show current enrolment or seniors holding a state or territory seniors concession card are eligible and will be requested to provide this after submitting their membership application. How much does it cost to join the co-op?
The cost to join the Co-op is $250 per adult or $150 concession. This is a $249 (or $149 concession) membership fee and $1 in share capital. In subsequent years there is an annual $50 subscription that is redeemable through member events or other Co-op products.
